Albury is up and running again for 2010...!
Looking forward to seeing all our special children and our sponsors at the party again...

Over the last 12 years,
through the generosity of the business community, local
special needs children have been given the opportunity
to experience a spectacular Christmas event. In each of
these years over 1000 children from Albury/Wodonga, North
East Victoria and the Riverina have been invited to this
spectacular event.
This year, our 13th anniversary, with your help our
goal is to allow 1200 ‘special little boys and girls’
aged from babies to 15 years, a day that will be etched
into their memory.
It really is hard to believe that there are still so many
local children who are disadvantaged. They are disadvantaged
for a variety of reason, whether they are physically or
intellectually disadvantaged, have a life threatening
disease, or are victims of abuse, neglect or are orphans.
For some of these children their childhood is virtually
non-existent taking upon themselves huge family
responsibilities. Christmas is supposed to be filled with
fun, laughter and joy, however with added financial pressure
that the families may endure throughout the year, Christmas
is often non-existent.
Think about what this day would mean to any child let
alone more than 1000 children who have special needs,
children who can’t go and play with the kid next door
because their house isn’t wheelchair friendly, or children
who don’t have the social skills or the physical ability to
interact with others and those children who don’t enjoy the
simple things in life that other children take for granted.
Please pick your party from the list above. Just click on the yellow 'Visit
It..!' linkto see more about that party, including a
Photo Album, information on the next Party, how
you can be a Sponsor for it and many other
interesting things...!
2009 Christmas Party for Special Children
The Albury party was held on Saturday 8th December at the
Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre.
We invited over 1000
special needs children to experience an opportunity they
might otherwise never receive – a wonderful Christmas.
With the generous support of the local business community
and the continued support of media sponsors such as The Border Mail and WIN TV, we helped these
children to enjoy a fun-filled 3 hour extravaganza, which
included a stage show hosted by local personality Steve
Bowen, entertainment included local dancers, singers,
acrobats and clowns, jumping castles, face painting and a
feast of food and drink. The final treat was the spectacular
entrance of Santa as he danced and sang on stage before
meeting each and ever special child in his magnificent toy
room.
Whilst visiting Santa each child received two very
special toys, a commemorative sports cap and a show bag full
of goodies. Although it is only one day of the year, seeing
the smiles on the children’s faces, as well as the parents
and volunteers, brings a tear to the eye, as we all realise
that this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some
of these special children.
The feedback from children, parents, carers, our sponsors
and the volunteers has been simply overwhelming. The
atmosphere was electric as many of these children had not
attended the Christmas Party before and did not know what
excitement lay ahead for them on this special day.
The Albury Christmas Party for Special Children
commenced in 1996, and during the ensuing years, in excess
of 12,000 special needs children have had the opportunity to
partake in a truly wonderful experience.
Please take the time to view our Photo Gallery of last
year’s Albury Christmas Party for Special Children – we are
sure that you will agree that this is a worthwhile cause and
worthy of your support.
We are presenting to you this opportunity to become
involved in a local well organised community project,
media coverage of the event by television, radio and press
attest to the broad base community interest. You can help
make their special day happen by sponsoring the Christmas
Party for Special Children, please take the time to view
the Sponsorship Levels, and ‘thank you’ your
support will make a difference.
Thank you to everyone for their support!

huge THANKS to all these businesses for their
