All the children were treated to a healthy Subway lunch, fun drinks from the Steel City Beverage Company and of course no party is a party without Fairy Floss, Smiths Crisps and chocolates and lollipops.
The stage show was hosted by Peter Turak and featured some amazing talent from Beckstar, DFM Dancers and Panjo 5 and at the end of the day, the children themselves enjoyed the spotlight by performing for parents and carers to their own high energy dance party on stage! Santa of course was the main attraction who arrived in high style on his motor trike to the delight of the children – announcing the toy room open!! All the children enjoyed 2 toys along with a meal voucher at Hogs Breath, Hoyts tickets and lots of goodies such as pencils, lip gloss, place mats and other prizes.

What a fantastic day for 1,050 children special needs children! Smiling, laughing, dancing and having fun! The 2008 Special Children’s Christmas Party held on the 1st of December at the Win Entertainment Centre was truly magical.
With Blinky Bill and Tara the Princess greeting the children on entry, the children were welcomed into a day of fun and frivolity! The children were treated to a brilliant day of rides, games, a stage show featuring some brilliant acts such as the PANJO 5. Symbio Wildlife Park Creatures allowed the children to touch and get up close and personal with reptiles, jumping castles and trying out the numerous motorbikes! Face painting provided by the artists at Clockwork Clowns were a big hit along with their roaming characters!
A big thank you to all of our sponsors and suppliers and volunteers – we simply could not have brought a day together without all of your help. A big thank you to Peoplecare Health Insurance – our Major Sponsor who worked tirelessly all day in the toy room and even donated extra time to come down to local hospitals to deliver toys to children who would be spending their Christmas at hospital. The 2009 party is in preparation now –it takes us nearly 42 weeks to organise and find sponsorship for so many children who would like to attend our event. Hopefully this year we will be able to provide for more children with special needs.
